Also earlier in the spring the parents were teaching the children different calls and it sounded like a classroom full of ornery kittens 😭 it was hilarious to hear the parent go “awk awk awk” followed by “ḁ̴̪̜͕̊w̵̥͚̱̤͎̠̻̝̣̹̠̳̟̺͗̂̓͛̐̈́̊̾̈̀͒̕Ạ̸͖̪̤̼̥̩̮̤͓̬̰̖̒ͅA̴̼̩̟̝̣͙͚͒͂̓̀͋͘̕͠͝͝A̷̡̨̻͉̪̖̬̯̿͂̌̄̈́̽̇͘͜Á̷̪̏̉̀̈̐̿͂̋Ā̸̧̢̝͓̖̙͖̹̉̄̿̏̔͑̌͠͠”

I affectionately refer to the group of corvids as “The Lads”

I am not on here as much (which has been legitimately tremendous for my mental health) but here is the nature update :>

There is also a small dog (whatever breed looks like fried chicken) that is rowdy and often off-leash, but wishes SO SO badly to make loud friends with my surly cat

In other local nature news, I have no less than FOUR beefy funnel weaving spiders on my patio handrails. They bookend one another and have different levels of web. Shit looks like a Halloween condominium.

The other families are SILENT and keep low to the ground.

The main family is rowdy but pretty much only bothers hawks

Sometimes there are other families passing through. I fed those, too, since the internet seemed to think fall was a chill/non-territorial [as much] time

I like to see them stack peanuts in their mouths

The best is when they just straight up spear the things, and end up mounting the peanut on their beak
