I've been rambling for a WHILE, but these are just some thoughts I have. If I am nowhere near the truth of what is going to happen I am going to look like an absolute fool, but honestly I don't care. This was a lot of fun.

In the end - I think in accessory format will be the most common for the wider public. Perhaps not full on 2014 coachella boho, but in a more simple way. Also feathers in hair but MUCH MORE RESPECTFUL (I hope at least). I'm also seeing a lot of feather collars online. I can see that happen as well.

I would not be surprised if the real vs fake feathers conversation would appear out of this, since it would be quite unethical to create clothing pieces from thousands and thousands of feathers. Out of this, I can see fashion appearing that looks like feathers, in shape and size.

I do think we will get an increase of cloting with bigger feathers - will it be practical? I don't think so. It will definetly be more of a fashion statement. I do think full feather outfits will be reserved for runway, celebrities, events, and maybe influencers.

How do I think this will manifest in every day fashion? As these looks are not realistic to achieve for casual wearing, it will be different of course.

One type will be thinner feathers in smaller doses. Think colars, belts, etc.

More moving feathers, wings, and feather clothing.

Those rabid images go straight into a different feather look. My main point - there are a large number of different feather looks within the music video. While some looks could be argued they are more like flower petals, there is still a strong similarity to feathers.

The music video then rapidly goes through different visuals and looks. Included are these feather looks, including LITERAL WINGS.

Here we have the first fashion look that corporates feathers. Unlike how feathers were shown as small accessoiries back in the 2010s (think those feather earrings) the whole outfit is made of feathers.

Jennie surrounded by a bunch of birds. Again very on the nose, but I also wanted to include it as I love the visual. Another image of feathers being kicked around everywhere.

The music video starts with an image of an owl. Yes, it's very on the nose, but thought I would include it.

The first signs of feathers in high fashion for me have come from Jennie's new music video of ZEN. Here is the link to the music video, but I am going to go through some screenshots and my thoughts on them: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXmY...

It also fits in the political climate we are in, and fashion is heavily influences by the political state of a country/region/world. Birds stand for freedom, and in an oppressive climate, people will want to express that feeling of freedom.

Eventually mass chain stores pick it up, and it becomes widespread for the public to easily access.

Why feathers? Along with the resurgence of 2010s fashion, with pedictions of boho, mystical, whimsical to come back, feathers feel fitting.

'Western' coming back into fashion is a different story though. The reason I did bring it up is feathers - When it comes to fashion trends, there are waves in which it becomes popular. Those that start trends are often celebrities, then you see influencers spread those trends.

Looking at what is coming back into fashion in 2025, you do see a resurgence of 2010s fashion - including boho, which feathers were a part of. Back then there were a lot of native american influences, which I do think is appropiation. For 2025 it is however being rebranded as western. Think cowboy.

On a GREAT note though:

Happy one year of sobriety to me!!

My life has gotten so much better since I stopped drinking alcohol. I used to drink a bottle of vodka a night, spend all my money + more, post embarrassing drunk me on the internet, and destroy my body.

One year clean of all that.

Hey! This is absolutely great! Been playing since 2022, mostly online on discord, but sometimes in-person in London/Bristol. Met my partner @maggothammer14.bsky.social through clocktower, who has been playing for even longer and plays on TPI streams, so might wanna consider adding him too!
