Thank you for your efforts on behalf of those poor scared pups. I don't know how you do it, I would be a blubbering mess and sick to my stomach at the cruelty. I'm sure you feel that way too but you have a mission and you are there to complete it. You are my heroes!

I don't know where you live but where I live it rains all winter long. Dark and dreary - that really adds to the melancholy feeling.

Yes building BYD would create Canadian jobs but, seeing how popular they are globally, I could see BYD cars taking a big share of the car sales here and making Trump even more likely to want to move manufacturing to the US. But we do need to diversify away from relying on the US for jobs!

I too would like to buy a BYD but isn't it likely that we would be decimating what remains of the Canadian auto industry? Unless we retooled one of the Ontario plants to make BYD cars here!

First nation women being sterilized is again part of our shameful past. It is a criminal offence for anyone caught doing it today. Not excusing our horrible history but acknowledging it is the first step. Not a Nazi state at all, but one rather trying our best to improve.

We just had the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, to recognize the atrocities and multi-generational effects of the Canadian Indian residential school system. A day to reflect on our shocking, embarrassing history and to work toward to a more fair and equitable society for all.

It's interesting that you have a trans step grandchild and would make this comment. If you knew anything about Canada you would know that we are far ahead of the US on transgender care. I have a trans niece who is thankful every day to live in Canada. We are not perfect but we continue to try!

There is no capital gains tax on a principal residence in Canada and that's one of the reasons there are sky high house prices and a shortage of low to middle priced units. Flippers buy properties, live in them while they renovate, claim them as a principal residence and then sell for a profit.

That's kind of you! What's disturbing is that while hiding behind a social media screen has made it too easy for some to give voice to their inner demons, others are being emboldened to come right out in public & say these things as if cruelty is a virtue and dehumanization is just another opinion.

As the proud aunt of a transgender woman, I've heard unbelievably cruel stories of how truly vile some people can be in their efforts to demean, denigrate and dehumanize her - to try to erase the very existence of trans people. What's truly frightening is how easily people abandon their humanity.
