Sometimes it's about the little victories. Like getting to hold a tiny wild bird in your hand, look at it up close in a way you've never gotten to before, and give it a bottle cap full of water to get it back on its feet

I've always wanted to be in a closed species group, but most of them are so restrictive and also expensive that I never really had a chance. But Nyms are very loose with the rules, which allows for a lot of creative freedom, AND it's possible to get character slots entirely through in-game currency

oh SAME. though for me the part that always freaked me out the most was actually the meadow scene? it was just so tonally discordant that my kid brain went "Something is wrong here and I Don't Like That" lmao. glad you're introducing your kid to the classics tho :D
