Question for other middle aged white dudes and others. Do you get called "boss" by younger men sometimes? I just got it from the Amazon driver. "Hey Boss can you sign for this?" Is this taught as a communication strategy? Do women get this?

Or am I just old?

I live on a pasture-based family farm with a lot of low lying, creek bottom ground. After snow season is mud season. We didn't chop ice this morning.

My NFL announcing pet peeve is when the play by play guy says "Wide Open!" referring to a receiver who's just a little bit open or just regular open. Hyperbole has no place in football, you fascists.

On Saturday, while squirrel hunting, I found a small dead elm tree covered in delicate wood ear mushrooms. Yesterday we had hot and sour soup with those mushrooms and it made me very happy to eat fresh food on the third day of February.

The Chiefs inability to solve the left tackle situation with anyone other than Thuney caused that first down sack. Mike Calliendo got picked up and carried backward into Mahomes lap

Farmers who make deals with corporations often regret it, especially if that corporation is Tyson foods.

Also, when are we going to start using the powers of the federal government to bust de facto monopolies again?

The word "polio" sounds kind of cool.

Not the disease of course. The disease is terrifying.

The word comes from the Greek word "polios", referring to the gray matter in the spine that swells up and causes paralysis.

What are we doing again?

NBC Nightly news spot about a health care company who had put a lien on elderly peoples homes. Then the health care company forgave the medical debt of over 200k people so now I feel really bad about advocating for a people's revolution against our corporate oligarchy.

Started the day cutting up three deer from last week's successful hunt. Then a dentist visit, a trip to Stoplight Market, and pickup of a dessert from a teenage entrepreneur in town. Jerky season starts tomorrow
