Masters runner 65+ / MF6, gardener, mother of dragons, Zelda's YaYa, Île de France. New York me manquera toujours mais j’adore la France.
On my recent trip to Rouen, I was really picking up a Portland, Oregon vibe. This run could have been along the Willamette instead of the Seine.

I was in Rouen over the weekend and saw this window display in a bookstore of books banned in the USA. It made me feel sad about what has happened to the « land of the free ».

I tried to mail a gift to our new baby grandson in Connecticut from La Poste in France . Sadly, we are now not even able to mail gifts valued at less than 80 euros due to the tarriff/customs issues in the US. Looking for other options !

So in my neck of the woods on France, McDonalds is rebranding with Canadian style Frites.

My only June race was our village's Fun Run, 2k with color bombing, obstacles, mud pits and climbing walls. The finish line is a shower.

15 k run on a warm day in Île de France. The smoke from Canada’s fires was washed away by friday’s violent thunderstorms.

I overcame my fear of tripping and falling at little trail 10k yesterday in Marolles en Hurepoix. Lovely people at the race, great volunteers and a 2nd place female finish !

Went back into Paris yesterday and I hit Smith and Son near Tuileries. Bought « The Serviceberry » and « Parable of the Sower ».

Gorgeous day à Paris today. We were about to get on our train home when the RER C home was canceled for the night. SCNF arranged buses for the stranded. Will be home in the wee hours.

I raced the Foulées Etampoises 10K today. I tripped and fell at the 5k on a pothole, but managed to regroup and finish in 47:08 gun time. I was also interviewed (in French) when I collected my AG award. I was a bit timid about being called out as an americaine, but everyone was really nice.

10 miles in the frozen fog. I had a very tight hamstring yesterday, so I bundled up, warmed up slow and finished around 9 minute per mile pace. Refueled with cheese and crackers, peanut butter and olives.

Running into 2025 with a combination of "WTF" and "I can do this". Photo from last week's cold, wet and windy 10k race in Cernay La Ville, France.
