I don’t think this is it actually. It’s just resources. Who still has a media reporter who writes about what the media covers and how? News organizations rarely have each other‘s back when it comes to organized pushback against something that threatens all of them.

Not to mention the funding. Where’s the investor input? And what about collabs like @couriernewsroom.bsky.social @theajp.bsky.social

There’s no one addressing the huge destruction of audience and capital that happened when sites like Buzzfeed, Vox, HuffPost and QZ withered. Where did all those readers go? And journalists?

Confession: I have been thinking way too much about this event and what’s wrong with it. In addition to including bad faith “news” folks it’s missing younger voices making or consuming news.
