Celebrated 9 years of marriage yesterday ❤️ Can’t believe it’s been almost a decade. Time really does fly. Coincidentally, my husband’s siblings all got married in August, too. Anyway, I’m thankful every day for my sweet husband. Life is so much easier with him by my side.

I love parsnips. Every year I try to buy parsnips for the winter holidays, but they always sell out. I found a “good” deal for 2kg on Mercari & decided to buy them early to freeze. I gasped when I opened the box—they’re huge! I’m so happy. Got a lot of parboiling to do! My first parsnips in years 😮‍💨

Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful dad. My best friend since the day I was born. I’m so thankful for all the ways he shows his unconditional love and support. I’m also thankful for the technology that allows us to talk on the phone at least twice a day, even though we’re so far apart. Love you, Dad!

I had a suspicious mole removed on my forearm on Friday. Closing up the incision took forever, but my dermatologist did the most beautiful stitching 🥹 I guess it was worth the wait. Anyway, please get your skin checked regularly!

After a few meltdowns, I finally got voip.ms and Groundwire working. The annoying part was finding a PoP that would accept my JPN IP address. I almost entered another dimension trying to set it up, but now everything runs smoothly 🥹 I can even get SMS on Groundwire, which is useful for bank texts.

My husband sent me a photo of some freesia laxa growing by our fence. A few days later there was another blossom 🥹

Came home to a display of my fuzzy daughter’s prized hair tie collection on the stairs.

I got three Ajovy injections today instead of my usual one. I told my husband my arms felt soooo heavy. “That’s bc you’re carrying three Ajovys 😌” lol.

Whenever my husband goes out, Iris gets so upset & looks for him. She just shoved open the office door to see if he was in there. Her sad little meows when she couldn’t find him 😭 She has separation anxiety from when he “disappeared” for a year (when he returned to Japan before us during Covid 😔)

Iris’ heating pad finally crapped out after several years of service. We accidentally ordered one that was too big. Thankfully, she seems to like it more than the old one bc there’s more heated surface to sprawl out on 🥹

It’s nice being in western Tokyo near the mountains bc you can get a break from the sea of concrete and houses. Seeing just grass and trees from the train reminds me of home 😭 This area is near a small nature preserve, btw.

My husband made us fluffy pancakes for breakfast today 🥹

Our awful downstairs neighbor moved out! He would chain-smoke and blow the smoke into his exhaust fan, blasting it directly into our apartment. It even came through our closed vents. After two years we can finally have every single window open. Love this fresh air! Thank God 😭

Not sure if anyone else still uses Skype, but they’re ending the service! I was shocked bc I talk with my dad multiple times a day via my Skype number. I think I’ve found an alternative, but of course it’s more expensive. Welcoming any suggestions 🥹

My husband was playing with Iris on her tower when she almost rolled off. I said if we lived in the US, my dad could make her wider platforms. My husband said, “Yeah but I think wider isn’t good for her. She likes dangerous situations 😤” lol

My husband and I had a wonderful time yesterday with his side of the family. We finally got to meet the newest member! It was great catching up and playing with our nephews all day. Wish they lived closer so we could see them all the time 😭
