I spent a delightful weekend in Manchester for a wedding. Highlights include a beautiful reception at Platt Fields Market Garden - complete with communist frog - and the breathtaking Santiago Yahuarcani exhibition at the Whitworth Gallery.

The Durham Miner’s Gala was, as always, wonderfully uplifting and a beautiful day. Especially pleased to see so much solidarity with Palestine and across union campaigns! The workers’ struggle is international and we are stronger together ✊🇵🇸

I’ve been spending more time in the kitchen again lately, and it’s nice to feel a bit of myself coming back after years of being too fatigued to cook much. It also means the resurrection of Mews Foods Instagram ✨

Spent a calming morning in Jesmond Dene. A cute new piglet now lives in Pets Corner, there was a group doing Tai Chi with beautiful music, and the blossoms were in full bloom 🌸🌞

I’ve been appreciating the Lit & Phil this week as I work on a couple of new writing pitches. Any other good, preferably free places to work in Newcastle?

Newcastle Acorn have had a case win!! ✊😍
After months of living with a broken door and break-ins, Nick and Acorn took direct action against Karbon Homes in Dec. Acorn have since secured a new front door, a replacement laptop for Nick, and a written promise of compensation for all building residents.
