My number one tip for setting a good example is actually hidden in here:

Ask your kids if you are on your phone too much. They will roast you and make you feel like the worst parent ever. That guilt is super helpful tbh.

As a former teenage user of AOL chatrooms and reader of the occasional fanfic, much of this isn't new. Experts say to keep having open conversations with your kids about sex, and make sure they're not replacing in-person interactions with safer AI ones. Getting your heart broken is good, actually.
