So Gavin, why aren't state police arresting the people doing this? It is blatantly illegal. They are not showing law enforcement identification, they are masked, they are kidnapping people. All illegal. Arrest them and put them in jail.

Hi Marsha. I read your Sept 20 article in The Walrus, "The Difficulties of Writing About October 7." Thank you for a sane perspective, and expressing it so well. I share your stance re: Israel and Palestinians. I see parallels to the founding of Canada, on genocide and oppression of First Peoples.

Maybe because the evidence points to this as a reasonable, sustainable paradigm for a successful human society.

Ends don't justify means, HOW something is done is as important as WHAT is done. We (Canadians, colonialists) have a very bad history of tromping over First Nations lands and rights in our "nation-building" processes. There's no reason for First Nations to trust him or the Canadian government.

I feel like he is asking First Nations to trust his good intentions to include them in the process. He doesn't realize that "his good intentions" are not government, are not law. Newbie move.
