I’m guessing most people reading my BlueSky posts are already engaged with the news. If that's you, I hope you will try to help your tuned-out friends and neighbors find ways to re-engage with an emphasis on action.

Continuous outrage is unsustainable and unproductive. Action is the antidote!

Why? Because others will see you do them, and it will make it easier for them to take their own (slightly less lonely but equally beautiful) action by your side

Too often, social media and the relentless news cycles keep people in a state of continuous outrage, and eventually they have to tune out just to be able to function.

And the outrage is unsustainable. But a better alternative to tuning out is to take action and organize acts of resistance.
