The @aamctoday.bsky.social joined with the other leading higher education associations to ask the NIH Director, "in the spirit of consistency and fairness" to reinstate all grants that were terminated as a result of directives found to be unlawful.

The AAMC released on May 6 an analysis of terminated NIH grants. As of May 5, U.S. institutions have lost $1.9 billion in funding across 777 terminated NIH grants this year, including 245 R01 grants and over 100 active clinical trials spanning a broad range of diseases. www.aamc.org/media/83356/...

Last night a federal judge issued a nationwide temporary restraining order preventing NIH from implementing a change to the reimbursement of F&A costs. This would have been a devastating cut, resulting in immediate harm - to all of us. This is why AAMC took action.
