When a 3 foot snow drift prevented me getting to work, she wouldn't allow me to take a day's paid leave, so made me lose a day's pay, because it wasn't snowing where she lived! I never gave another free minute after that, and realised the importance of goodwill

Spot on. I retired from healthcare recently and for the last few years the team I was in always addressed to the patient and copied in the GP
