President of the DLCC 💙 electing Dems to state legislatures across the U.S.
The other reality that was reaffirmed last night: State legislatures are where Dems are making real, tangible progress. This level of the ballot is where things are getting done. This is where Dems are leading. And I’m excited about what that means for the future.

These wins all happened in the context of the government shutdown, but the affordability crisis has been on voters' minds all year. We’ve been winning on this issue in special elections because our candidates are out in red, blue, & purple communities talking directly to voters.

Then there’s California’s Prop 50, which passed with roughly 63% of the vote. Prop 50 came out of the state legislature - an important reminder of the major role they play in redistricting. Democrats used their power in the legislature to look out for the future of our democracy.

In the Mississippi Senate, Democrats broke the GOP supermajority. And through a special election in Minnesota, we were able to hold onto the one-seat Dem majority in the state Senate. Minnesota remains one of our top battlegrounds in 2026.

Then there’s New Jersey, where Dems flipped at least 3 Assembly seats blue and created a new supermajority. And Pennsylvania, where 3 Supreme Court candidates won retention, ensuring that the court remains Democratic.

In 2024, Harris won 59/100 Virginia House districts. We just won 64/100. @thedlcc.bsky.social helped Virginia House Dems raise over $30 million. We didn’t take any district for granted. We were disciplined and strategic. Thanks to that work, Virginia has a blue trifecta.

In Virginia, @thedlcc.bsky.social won every single targeted race after running candidates in all 100 House districts. Democrats flipped 13 seats blue, creating the largest Dem majority in nearly 40 years. There was a shift to the left in almost every county in the commonwealth.
