I’m less sure about this one “What presidents can be experts in is politics.” Why is this exactly? Because of a lot of practice? Because the scope of politics is smaller? Because if they didn’t they wouldn’t be president?

I think I agree with this “At best, in their strongest policy areas, they might achieve something like second-tier expertise” — the vast array of policy issues seems to explain this
