I understand "AI" means something very specific lately but I don't think the kind of AI that would play a game for you is the kind of AI that they build datacenters for. I think they more mean the way NPCs in games have "AI." They might be intentionally conflating these though.

I agree with that at least. It's sort of a trope that I think was meant to make her more endearing but just distracts from the more interesting side of her story. Removing that would have been a net positive.

And yes it's inappropriate that she's 6 (which beggars belief since she acts so much older than that) being flirty with Zidane, you can see it charitably as a childhood crush on an older role model, keeping in mind Zidane is apparently 16 after all. And it's not like HE gets inappropriate with it.

I've heard this criticism before and I never really felt that way myself. I always been charmed by the story of Eiko, raised by moogles in Madain Sari, finally making contact with other people and wanting to cook for them and form a bond with them. It's heartwarming and bittersweet in its own way
