And that has informed my own beliefs about slurs. Because i understand the power that slurs have when they're voldemorted, and what truly awful people can do to hurt people with them.” “My grandmother was a survivor of the indian split, my mother a survivor of the Bombay riots, I am a bisexual indian of gujurati descent, raised muslim in dubai who wore his hair in a turban for a large part of his life and i can't count the times i've been yelled at as a Paki, A Guju, A popsicle, a moon kisser, a Koota, a khon pessar, a faggot and more. So trust me when i say i have experience with slurs. And i understand that this is a sensitive subject, and i understand that people have very different opinions on it then i do. And i respect that, because i can see where they are coming from and i understand that the experience of such an awfull issue is so different from person, from place and from peoples. But i still stand my ground on what i believe in when it comes to the topic. I only want you to respect where i am coming from as well, and not admonish me without acknowledging my experience with the subject”
