Childe stirs to find Zhongli petting his face and watching him closely. It's not unusual for the brunette to wake before him, looking around as if to absorb some knowledge from the past, but it always jars him when Zhongli chooses /him/ as his subject of study.
Childe wakes to find Zhongli observing him closely. Despite not being able to speak, Zhongli communicates with him by writing on his palm. He writes a word the old Zhongli had said to him once, beckoning tears from Childe's eyes.

Childe's hands are quick to snatch them up, shooting a harsh glance at the waitress standing awkwardly by.

"We're good, thanks," and the girl is off before any real threats can be made.
Childe helps reteach Zhongli how to use chopsticks; a strange reversal of the past. Zhongli looks flustered as Childe tries to help him adjust.

The couple share a cup of the tea while Childe relays their activities for the day. Zhongli simply listens, a curious reversal of their previous roles, but he doesn’t mind it. He is willing to go along with anything his love has planned and experience Liyue anew through his eyes.
