Always fond of cocooning on the couch with a cozy book.
For current affairs, a wooden horse may not cut it. Now, a gold painted wooden horse… 🤔

Not me shoveling my car out of the snowbank on Portland ME with another 30+ inches predicted this week wondering what you’re all on about. 😂

Wow, after all the school shootings, this is just what kids need. Now they can also watch ICE swoop in to disappear them or their classmates right out of math class. 😡

Sticking to the tiny beautiful things some days.

Entomologists using the #bluemonday tags to post photos of blue iridescent beetles.

The old ladies in my trail volunteer group who have memorized over fifty species of ferns.

Kids learning about pine cones and getting obsessed.

The question of is it good or not isn’t at all what anyone is asking right now. Art critics can respond and it’s dull.
The more honest question is how do we parse that means a lot to a lot of people, but was also a mechanism for deep harm. What is the ethical thing to do with it on your shelf.

You are being intentionally dismissive and hand waving away with “probably” and any vagueness you can gloss over.

Read the article, the whole article again then remember this scene.

We interpret it with the whole context. And perhaps you can understand some don’t want it anymore.

But he used his art and his persona as bait even in the best case scenario. Good bait is still bait and it’s disingenuous to ignore the context once it’s out there.

He admitted to having sex with a decades younger woman fan who was living in his home to care for his son, unpaid, and otherwise would have been homeless. The first night she was there. He just says she agreed, but that he even asked is exploitation. No one is saying his novels aren’t enjoyable.

He’s just part of it, and we shouldn’t stick our fingers in our ears and pretend he isn’t because we enjoy his fiction. It’s great fiction, and he used it to harm young fans. Both are true, how you hold that fact is up to you.

Especially if they don’t live together. Usually I chat with Partners/Spouses if I am picking up or dropping off Friend.
I’d do it if Friend directly said they wanted to introduce us, but it wouldn’t occur to me to make plans with them as a couple. I just assume I’ll see them around eventually.

I definitely have close friendships where I’ve only met their Husbands/Partners a few times at Weddings/Birthday parties over 2-3 years. They talk about them a lot, but we’re all busy adults. If they are both off they’re usually doing family stuff. It’s not intentional avoidance, folks are busy.

I am curious if the LW has directly said “Hey, things are getting pretty serious with my Partner, and as a close friend I’d like you to meet him at least once.” Vs “Come do this couple activity with us and another couple even though you have said you prefer 1 on 1 stuff.”

Is Space X going to fund any required debris cleanup and environmental remediation?

Or is this going to be the dodging the EPA over their cooling system contamination all over again.
