at my lgs, nip at the heels became a topic of discussion because of the two left foots and thinking it was AI, i defended this card mentioning it was intentional, that it was drawn that way on purpose, now that argument is weaker cus we know james white is ok with AI usage

shows that they just don't care about the process as long as we get product, one of the reasons i moved from mtg to fab is because the release schedule was slower, i had time to enjoy a set, but if we focus on the speed of product then we end up with what's coming to magic next year

again, it is good you comission said artists and showcase them, but if you truly stand behind your artists, you should know how harmful the use of ai even is to start with, some of said artists will prolly consider working with you again after knowing this, it also harms them

the efficiency thing falls off when you remember you can do quick drawings in paint in like 2 minutes like the one i did, or even go the magic route in the pre alpha stages and use real photos and scans of images as placeholders, if it really is a placeholder, they both do the work as well as AI

about the efficiency thing, there's been a lot of studies that show that AI in no way raises efficiency in a lot of fields, and mentioning prototypes end up in the trash doesnt help the situation at all, because then you're doing the aforementioned damage for no reason really

to start, the tool situation, yes, it is true, a lot of times the tool is not the problem but how you use it, that being said, if everytime you used said hammer a tree somewhere exploded then the tool is going to be part of the problem, using ai for any reason helps ai companies that
