When Apple started the iTunes Store an “album” was $10 for 10 songs which was cheaper than CD for $16. Both gave label/artist 70 cents per song. Now 700 streams = 70 cents. But don’t worry, Spotify CEO is a billionaire! And no more iTunes Store.

They were called labels because they put labels on phys objects that people bought with $ shared with artist. The share was even mandated by law (“mechanical” royalties). Radio paid to ASCAP/BMI which shared with artist. Now Spotify gives you 1/10 of 1 cent per stream and Spotify keeps the rest.

Multiple on two Kindles and three Kindle apps on devices and computer. Only way to actually read something. Currently rereading Eco’s “Name of the Rose,” Taleb’s “Antifragile,” and some of my own writing. Kindle keeps your page even on different devices so that makes it work.
