THE CAMP HOST on Tubi 🏕️, WOLFMAN’S GOT NARDS: A DOCUMENTARY at Kino🧛‍♂️, THE BOY BAND CON 🎤, OFF TRACK🩸

A wild Alaskan still acclimating to LA weather⛄️🌴
Notorious B.I.G. and Hooverphonic had the same taste in music: Issac Hayes’ WALK ON BY has been sampled by many incredible artists over time, but the most notable for me are WARNING from Biggie’s READY TO DIE album and 2 WICKY from the I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER soundtrack.

Did y’all know that Jewel had a rap track?

This soundtrack legitimately slays.

DJ Scratch opened the show and had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

Mobb Deep, Raekwon, Big Noyd, the RZA, DJ Scratch, and Medz on the drums. Real hip-hop was definitely in the building.

1995 was all the way live tonight when these absolute legends celebrated two of the greatest albums ever made. Happy 30th “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...” and “The Infamous.” 🙌🥃

For the death of me, I can't remember why this flick was called Dreamcatcher. . . was there even a dreamcatcher in it?

It’s been a minute since I've gotten to sit down and watch a movie in its entirety, and I’m happy to report that LADYHAWKE still rips.

I love the life this record has lived: a big ol’ chip in its sleeve, a personalized label that I will never take off from Western Connecticut State University, and even the playback has so much personality. Thank you, Dj-RonIce, whoever you are.

THE INFAMOUS by MOBB DEEP may be the best rap album ever made. Whenever I put it on, it sends me right back to freestyle cyphers in the gymnasium. I can’t believe I get to see the whole thing be performed live by the remaining members of Mobb Deep, next Tuesday at the Wiltern.

You know you have a VHS collecting problem when you start seeking out the creative bootleg variants of things you already own.

Next up in '90s soundtracks.

K-pop's biggest hits are produced by a hip-hop beat maker from Compton—a friggen legend, mind you.

This shit is more washed than a picket fence, and I like some of these dudes, but that’s because I can appreciate and respect the universal impact hip hop has on music and the world.

I got a set visit from my dear friend/lawyer, @zernerlaw.bsky.social! He gave me this badass book. Can you name all the legends who signed it?

Also, I forgot D’ANGELO was on this.

I got a cheap new toy! This wizardry turns my tape cassettes into MP3s. Most of these '90s soundtracks aren’t available in digital stores, so I’m a big fan of this device, especially for the price point.

Of course, I wore my Jade Daniels shirt to the lake from Creature From the Black Lagoon, TWO Friday the 13th movies, and American Horror Story: 1984. CC: @sgj.bsky.social

I enjoyed floating around the official 2025 @fangoria.bsky.social Chainsaw Awards Watch Party. The whole team did a great job putting together a one-of-a-kind award show that is truly out of this world!

P.S. Tom Woodruff Jr. is still my Pumpkinhead.

Here’s the nitty-gritty: it has a great tone, captures that Halloween feeling we all chase, and isn't afraid to go dark regardless of its restrictions. Best of all, it’s on Tubi, which means it’s free. So, you know, see for yourself.

A few parts go full Ernest (Hey Vern) with the quirkiness of their characters, but it’s not out of place because it’s all being plucked from the same crop.
