Sets, immaculate. Costumes, flamboyant. Dialogue, hilarious and beautiful. Amazing characters! This is just the epitome of what white film making should be. What a first watch and I can’t wait for this to be a recurring thing. Love the usage of “as you wish” throughout

This isn’t a comedy, you may laugh but not a comedy. Secondly the amount of tension allows for the audience to feel as claustrophobic as our MC. The messaging of the importance of support groups but also how thin mothers and caretakers are spread was phenomenal.

What a date night movie! Amazing performances throughout. Body horror seems to have reached new heights. Always kept me on the edge of my seat with the tonal shifts being so calculated that it just made the adventure so much more worthwhile. What a commentary on our partnership

Powerful film on the impacts of grief and loss. It is never a straight line to recovery and dealing with a situation of this magnitude is a horror in of itself. Community being important and ability to accept that a person may really be gone. Allegory to the scale of Del Toro

John Wick franchise has cemented itself as an action/stunt worker love letter. The choreography and sheer absurdity of deaths are amazing. Ana De Armas was absolutely astounding and put quite the performance as a sheer menace. Visual candy because of the vibrant usage of color

Tim Robinson made me believe in comedies again. Subtle Tone shifts create such a suspense and tension that really allows the absurdity to shine. Such an insight into our need for companionship and toxic masculinity. Personally loved that it felt like one elongated ITYSL skit.

The colors of this movie are absolutely stunning. I don’t think I’ve seen a Guillermo Del Toro movie that wasn’t amazing and he delivers again, such a romantic horror movie with great use of the supernatural always! Love is truly terrifying

This felt like such a deeply personal character study. Thought provoking horror film with all the classic Cronenberg details and flair. So many elements to dissect: environmentalism, grief, love, etc. It is a slow burn with a finale that feels climactic and deeply personal.

Suburbia really is terrifying and absolutely love the connection between Cuckoo birds and the plot of the movie. That last sequence is absolutely mind bending while also explaining any other questions about the plot. Took a couple rewatches but appreciate it more and more every time

Nothing I say will be anything that hasn’t already been said. It’s that good. A juke joint, the horny and a whole lot of stuff going down in one night. The songs and music, hits. Cinematography, stunning.

Completely wicked. a stop motion passion project that took 30 years to make and what a delivery of it all. From the first second we are thrown into a completely mad world and it’s one hell of a ride. Not really any dialogue its more vibes and aura farming the whole time

Having no expectations for this made it such an incredible and enjoyable time. Stacked cast with such a great soundtrack. Horny Jeff Goldblum and outrageously funny Gabriel Byrne. Gun fights were so quick but interesting at the same time, give it a try

The language is definitely dated and has some pretty bad Sinophobia which I mean is pretty telling of the time. However the actual plot is insanely well done with some incredibly captivating shots. That garden/convention scene is incredible

Whereas the first entry felt succinct and fast paced this was a drag to get through. Definitely could’ve been compacted to help the Sienna and Art dynamic. Kills and practical effects are still good but lacking compared to the first in my opinion.

Shit was mid. Honestly jokes fell flat and from the stacked cast only Will Poulter and Anthony Carrigan were the highlights comically. Just wait for streaming release. I kept checking the time because it felt longer than the actual runtime (derogatory)

When I envision fairy tales, this depiction will always stick with me. Body horror with it being used to really speak on the outlandish beauty standards but also showing how women are pitted against one another. So captivating and amazing music! We need more of this!

Really enjoyable with some of the most interesting cinematography I’ve ever seen. Had me researching filming methods. Although the first story feels a bit of an after thought, second is captivating and beautiful with such powerful commentary about love & moving on in each

It’s bad in a great way I swear. The slo mo of the gargoyles as they move across the screen is hilarious. Love the dirt bike gang and honestly the most impressive part about this is the makeup and costumes. Understandable as to why it won an Emmy everything else is meh but fun

The atmosphere the film creates is so intoxicatingly claustrophobic. Characters are so well fleshed and the sounds have stayed with me even after weeks of having watched it. Was really impressed with the body horror and that last scene is quite unforgettable!

This is THE love story! The amount of twists and turns upon the first watch are riveting. The chemistry that all the actors had was extraordinary. A love story dressed as a thriller, comedy. I understand why so many people have called this a perfect movie because it really is!
