Such a brilliant and wholesome day celebrating the 20th year of YNiC yesterday! A day filled with great science and great people. Really lovely catching up with familiar faces and sharing stories of our time at YNiC. @yorkpsychology.bsky.social

Made it to Liverpool and excited for the AVA Spring meeting tomorrow! Retreated to the waterfront earlier to avoid the pre-match chaos (big game at Anfield today). Beautiful day for a stroll around the dock!

I delivered the psychology taster lecture for the applicant visit day @universityofleeds.bsky.social today. Had fantastic questions from applicants & family members - really enjoyed the sessions. Getting the audience to find their blind spot is always a winner 😊 simple but effective demo!

Woohoo! A non-academic achievement to celebrate. I just do it for a club biscuit, but I do enjoy receiving a certificate and a pin badge 😁🙌 blood donations have saved my Mum and my brother's lives so I'd be silly not to give back (especially given I am a rare type!)

Did I blink and miss most of November? Time seems to be flying at the moment, & doesn't seem possible to have been at the University of Leeds for 6wks already! Really enjoying getting to know everyone, & excited for what's to come! Thank you to everyone who is helping me navigate the new role 😊

Delighted to say my first PhD student, Matt, passed his PhD viva last week! It's been a pleasure to be part of his supervision team, seeing him achieve so much, developing as a researcher & being an all round excellent human! I have definitely learned a lot in my first supervisory role!🥳🎉

So proud of our first MSc Cognition & Neuroscience graduates! Didn't get a chance to have photos with everyone, but so lovely to see everyone & celebrate together. Such a wonderful gift from a student - a handmade reminder of a brilliant year. 👏 🧠 it has been a pleasure being your course leader 😊
