Apparently you have to be on a computer to edit the nudes filter. Extra spicy?

Colleague did crack “peer pressure” but the discussion as to why they chose their answer was solid what many of us have been saying. You’d expect more maybes but there wasn’t. So perhaps this group of young adults do get it? They are our potential leaders in the future. Encouraging but we will see.

This inundation is dreadful, agreed. I was observing a colleagues AI literacy class for grad students yesterday. An activity had them go to a part of the room depending on yes, no, maybe if they’d use GenAI in their research/writing. 0-yes, 20% maybe, 80% no. 1/2

It’s a gem! I’ve done the exact same thing. Also good for hunting down inaccessible international OA articles!

Correct. But many publisher policies don’t allow the AAM to be deposited, requiring payment if APCs to make it open and compliant. Their lack of 2024 mention is confusing.

The flagship campus in my system is a land grant institution and does free ILL for materials in their collection to community users. Small charge if not owned. Though I don’t know how many people know about it.

Ugh. Hoping our eventual fedex of a $320 book back to Canada with all sorts of paperwork gets to its final destination. I’ve never spent so much time on mailing something in my life and I have shipped overseas before!

Our dean is getting the leadership team individual coaching for the next nine months as well as group coaching for the team. It’s come at the right time for me. I’m super excited!

Don’t publishers of indexed journals have feeds going in? Though any human checks aren’t happening.

Had no idea this happened! When I started to read this story I presumed it was a long time ago, recalling stories from our rare books librarian about the subjects of some of our old old anatomy books. Things like this just don’t happen out of nowhere without red flags.

We’ve used them to make buttons on our button maker. We’ve had a self service thing during events.
