On #MayDay2025, we honor WV’s coal miners. Early 20th-century miners faced poverty, scrip pay, and deadly conditions. Organizing with UMWA led to violent clashes like Paint Creek-Cabin Creek (1912-13) & Blair Mountain (1921). Their fight for rights mirrors May Day’s origins. #wvcoalminer #wvcoalwars
