We are collecting donations to Cats Protection in memory of my Dad, Roger, who passed away last month. No amount is too little. As well as his two sons, Dad is survived by his 17-year-old cat Miles (whose brother passed away last year). 👉 funeral-notices.co.uk/notice/hopki... 👈

64 Medicine papers, 64 Elizabeth papers and 64 American West papers marked. Mock marking season (for Year 11 anyway) is done.

Good to have my life back.

I find it completely baffling that Ofsted wants to replace a four-grade scale for sub-judgements with… a five-grade scale for (ten!) sub-judgements.

This isn’t the Ofsted reform that teachers and leaders have been crying out for.

Scrap the one-word judgements - including at the sub-grade level.

Last week I suggested edu-journalists look at the moderation of A Level History coursework… and it got picked up schoolsweek.co.uk/history-teac...

This week for GCSE? Perhaps grade boundaries will be worth a look. My predictions:

- Increased demand at the top
- Lower grades more spread out
History teachers say A-level coursework grades 'annihilated'
Exam boards have defended their moderation processes after a slew of teachers claimed their students' A-level history coursework grades were inexplicably "annihilated"

Happy holidays. Currently thinking about a career change, given the Doctor’s interest in the past, although I suspect a Physics teacher might be better suited to the role
