A walk in the woods today with neighbours. We found loads of different types of oak galls as well as the beautifully named dog vomit slime mold.

Saw this ladybird picture and felt it needed a tagline for these times.

Don’t pick bluebells kids! (Unless they’re the invasive ones)

“There is a Flower, the Lesser Celandine,
That shrinks, like many more, from cold and rain;
And, the first moment that the sun may shine,
Bright as the sun himself, 'tis out again!”

Walking with friends
In the local woods. Seeing what we could see whilst also sharing lots of really cool knowledge about local history and the nature of trees. We are going to hold a public walk next month to get people to help take care of this wonderful place

I’ve known for over a week that it would be beautiful down by the river but it’s been too icy to brave the slippy stone paths and frozen hill run off until today

Flood wardening at the info hub in Hebden Bridge which happened to be next to this sign. Pretty fitting.

It would be good if those #COP29 attendees would do something proportionate to the situation we are in - it was another very close one in Hebden with lots of road closures to manage!

In the ancient semi-natural woodland by me. The beech trees aren’t native to the north of England - here in Calderdale they were planted by the mill owners - but they’re still looking mighty fine at this time of year #Calderdale #ancientwoodland
