My brother is a secondary teacher and he employed the use of a harmonica (he is not a musician). It worked! It made me think of Choice Words, Peter Johnston: "Sometimes doing something unexpected, like reading in an accent or pretending to misunderstand, can re-engage children who are drifting."

So, how do you change that? Is it about having a clear unified vision for what we value as a school? We have begun surveying teachers and students to start defining what that will be.
