I agree that this is a big portion of it. I'm not in the market for a new vehicle now, but noticed that Hyundai is selling cars via Amazon now. I hope more auto manufacturers start offering more direct to consume sales. Auto dealerships are rife with scams and shitty people.

This is my household. I will bail on a book because they used the same adjective too closely together in the first page and my wife will soldier through the worst slop imaginable because she can't not finish a book. Somewhere between us is a happy medium.

During my career I've worked with literal genius who never went to college and college graduates who couldn't reason their way out of a wet paper bag and everything between. I think college is the path for most people looking to have more impact. But it's also not the sole criteria for success.

I didn't mean you specifically. There are a lot of non-degreed folk participating just fine in careers surrounded by others who have degrees without anyone knowing any different. It's only when the topic comes up that can see the varied backgrounds of coworkers and it rarely comes up naturally.

Depending on your field you might encounter more than you think. I don't have a college degree and am routinely presenting to C-level execs about ways to fix their failing IT/development projects. We speak the same language. But unless you're reminiscing about life 20+ years ago it rarely comes up.

I write nix like I write regex. As infrequently as possible with as much copy and pasting from other resources as possible and praying it works the first time so I can go back to the better things in life as fast as possible.
