This weekend calls for stress baking. I started with biscuits and now it’s on to salted caramel chocolate chip cookies. Tomorrow I’m trying my hand at a new sourdough recipe

Future archeologists: so this woman’s entire photo library is just photos of her cat lying in the sun?

Yes. Yes it is.

I’ve started and restarted these cat socks half a dozen times. Color-work is not something I’m naturally good at #knitsky

The thing I love about being in New York City is all the unique architectural details everywhere you look

I did in fact almost slip twice on my walk to the train station #newyork

Nonna does not approve of me engaging in depression Barbie activities #catsky

New York has not been much colder than north Texas or Virginia. But there’s still more ice in the local creeks and drainage spots than I’m used to

Once this scarf for my husband is done, I can turn to the heather green version of this hat for myself. Stitch by stitch, winter in the northeast will get easier!

God forbid I try to work when my cat has chosen my desk as the best spot to lick between her toes for thirty minutes. She makes me feel I need to apologize for the impudence

Y’all. Cables are so much fun #knitsky

It isn’t Yuletide cheer for my family till I’ve put the Christmas gumbo on
December 29, 2024 at 1:25 PM
The first pair of Christmas socks is finished. I have one more sock and then a hat to make before I can go back to knitting for myself. Also, I’ve learned in this process that I can knit for much longer periods with wool vs with acrylic before feeling any kind of stiffness

I’m still chasing the reader’s high that A Sorceress Comes to Call left me with. I need more regency fantasy in my life #booksky

I need to write a book about this tree

This is today’s #knitting check in. I finished the short rows in the back and split off for the sleeves. It’s a work in progress but I’m so glad the color-work is finished. Now it’s just time to make the body

November means cold weather walks and Sunday afternoon eggnog

I’m almost done listening to this book and it is both intoxicating and deeply frustrating. It’s rare to have a book that I wish is another 2 hours longer but the undeveloped and unresolved subplots drive me crazy

Knitting is, by any standard, magic. Two sticks, a bundle of thread, and a series of knots should not a garment make. And still here I am with 1/3 of a sweater

Lions made by people who probably haven’t seen real lions before are one of my favorite forms of artwork
