I tried publishing my 1st novel when I was 12yo. It took a few years...but my 3d, HER DAUGHTER, will be published in Jan 2026 by Black Rose Writing. (in between I wrote 8 nonfiction books, won awards, wrote a lot for newspapers & magazines etc)
#bookvember I think the classic may be #AgathaChristie's "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd." I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it, but--Wow! I read it in middle school & am still in awe

Thx for reminding us of tech innovations of the past. After visiting the #JaneAusten exhibit at the #MorganLibrary, I really appreciate that I don't need to write my novels w/ quill pen & ink! #BookSky #writingcommunity

When and how does this end?

Hmmm...It's not as though I'm less productive on all Mondays or whatever. Of course it depends partly on my nonwriting schedule, but that can change wk to wk. For me, the opposite tactic works: "force yourself to write 1800 words/day"

Thanks for sharing all those other ways to support indies & other non-Amazons. (Also indie bookstores can get many books via #bookshop.org)

Supporting #libraries is good. So is buying books to support writers directly--but remember: DON'T BUY ON AMAZON!! If you don't have a #local #indie #bookstore, you can get almost anything at #BN.com #BookSky #writingcommunity

LOL I have to remember not to love my characters too much bc they have to do & say stupid things in my novels

That's a great idea!

Willa Cather? Does someone in that hellhole read real literature?

Thank you for doing this. I wish more businesses followed your example! I will look at your catalogue

Thanks for your ideas. Is the City Hall station the "ghost" station? Also, speaking of subways, there's the holiday "throwback" train rides every year around Thanksgiving-Xmas where the MTA brings out some classic subway cars you can ride.

Thx. I hope you get many many more compliments & readers!

Congrats on your compliments!
For me, it's people like the reader who said of my newest, HER DAUGHTER: "I wanted to jump up & throttle the husband." It's when my characters are that real! #BookSky

1 short story/day -- ah, that seems an inspiring & doable goal. In fact, I think that reading 2 stories in a row is too overwhelming. I need time to savor the people & plot of one story before I move to another. #BookSky

Your aunt sounds like a wonderful reader. And your bookshop is a great tribute to her as well as a service to readers.

Absolutely and I apologize that I didn't realize you were posting your shop. Sharing, reusing, buying secondhand, putting books in little free libraries--all of that saves the planet. Thank you!! #BookSky
