You think Hobbits would have phones? Who're they going to socialize with outside of the shire? If anyone'd have phones it'd be either Dwarves or Elves, simply because of magic and/or enginuity. How else do you think other clans found out so fast that Smaug took over?

Not to mention that even if a flight would take a shorter time. The Witch King would've still likely been a massive threat, and many more people would've died by his hand if Mary wasn't there to help.

We also can't forget that the fires of Mount Doom aren't easily accessed from the air, so even if they got to Mordor's border, it'd require foot travel anyway. There is also the fact that the birds are intelligent, and as such could also be TEMPTED by the ring's power.

honestly, I think the only thing that I can actually have some solace in after the circumstances, I have played the game as thoroughly as possible.

That's valid, I definitely have my own opinions about having my voice next to A.I. especially because this game is becoming more high profile. It could be a very notable project on a resume. but because of this, I can't get traction.

something else to note, they were issued an epic games Grant. That's why they were forced to be exclusive for one year, I can't remember if they said it specifically or there were other devs that talked about their experiences working with epic, but they were pressured to speed up.

the devs are genuinely nice people, didn't exactly have a chance to have a conversation about the AI stuff. that said, they're was at least a few mentions in their discord about them saying they want to replace all of the AI with people.
