Microsoft made it clear that they need to bolster their software more and trying to compete on the hardware front isn't going to cut it, so their strategy needs to change in a meaningful way which seems necessary and understandable

Most of the debauchery is because of how writers and content creators value the Xbox brand. They are mad about how much THEY invested in the brand and how little they are getting in return (this aint the stock market but I understand the sentiment)

Saw some dude crying about it and they posted a pic of the receipt of them trading in their series X games only getting like 10-13 bucks a pop
