Intercut with flashbacks of how they were brought together and united by one brilliant and ordinary mortal.

I love the way that magic works in this novel. How it reinforces the themes and conflicts of the setting. I love the way that queer lives and queer love are unremarkable. I love this book

So I will take this opportunity to jump on my soapbox and say READ THIS BOOK. It's nothing like Murderbot, but it's really really good. It features a found family of queer immortals working together to root out the conspiracy that's trying to take over the alliance they helped to build 60 years ago

Witch King by Martha Wells

Technically this is a re-read in preparation for the sequel, which comes out in October, but it's my list and I can do what I want.

I *love* this book. It's my favorite book written by Martha Wells. Her Murderbot series justifiably takes a lot of the spotlight...

How many sets can the set on the fictional plane of New York City before it feels overdone?

I guess X-men probably has more going on.

It makes me worried about the rest of the marvel sets. If you asked me which marvel superhero had the deepest lore and the most going on, spiderman would probably have been my answer, so what are they going to do for the rest of the sets? Even fewer cards?

I have multiple modern decks that are cheaper than standard decks right now.

Especially combined with how inconsistent RCQ seasons are. Will there be Pioneer next year? Or will the format continue in its state of living death? Who knows! Will the summer format be ruined by a 3 mana blue and one other color legendary wizard? Probably!
