Making things better day 90: I helped my daughter decorate for her birthday party. Joy and community are a form of resistance. Her guests include kids of all races and gay and nonbinary folks. I’m proud that I raised her to be accepting and kind. PS I built the candy cart.

Ashes. I don’t feel personal guilt because frankly I haven’t done anything that bad. I feel collective guilt for America’s white supremacy, transphobia, etc. I fear that America is entering a period of suffering. Maybe out of that suffering will come repentance.
