Still Saturday here and we’ve gotten close to 2” of rain but here’s a Mountain Naupaka by my seed table. It’s endemic to Hawaii, there is also Beach Naupaka with the same half flowers to make a whole bloom. The halves represent lovers who were torn apart, one stayed in the mountains, one to the sea.

This is my buddy, Jorge, who traveled from the ocean condo where we work to our retirement home upcountry. He preferred the less windy ride. He was promptly deposited in a raised bed of flowers. Seemed pretty happy.
