Extreme heat really messes with how athletes perform in sports. You could see that clearly during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics when dangerous temperatures made things tough for everyone involved. It forced them to slow down their paces quite a bit and add in those extra breaks just to cool off properly.

So today in NCAA women’s basketball, ASU played UNLV and it ended in a crazy game winning 3 pointer. I saw only post from ESPN and saw I nothing else. This is a prime example of women not receiving enough coverage through media. If this was a men’s basketball game it would be everywhere in the media

On May 29th, 2017, the Washington Nationals were playing the San Francisco Giants and Bryce Harper was up to bat. The Giants pitcher Hunter Strickland threw a 98mph pitch that hit Harper. Harper got mad and charged the mound and started fighting the Hunter. This is an example of borderline violence.

This was probably one of the craziest fights in sports history and its a great example of quasi-criminal conflict.

Where the Saints were averaging 2.8 injuries per game😂. So yes they did win a superbowl but it wasn’t really because of this scandal it was because they had a good team.

Suspended the DC indefinitely and took 2 draft picks from the team. This was the harshest punishment in NFL history at the time. This is an example of negative deviance. The funny thing about this scandal is that it didn’t work that well. The average injuries per game caused by a defence was 3.8 3/4

Also the payout was double in the playoffs. The scandal was first ran by the defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and approved by HC Sean Payton. It went for 3 years and they ended up wining a Super Bowl in those 3 years. The NFL fined the team 500,000$, suspended the HC for 1 year, 2/3

The New Orleans Saints (2009-2011) done what was called the “Bountygate” scandal. The coaches set up a secret bounty system where players were paid cash to injure opponents and knock them out of the game. The payout for the players was 1000$ for a knockout hit and 1500$ for a player carted off. 1/3

This shows that most fans of sports don’t even watch how a player plays. Most fans start to judge the athletes based on their physique and not how they play.

He truly wanted to play and win which is inspiring but, he did increase the risk of a major or even career ending injury because he continued playing a violent sport with an injury. Now I don't understand why he would take this risk in the regular season.

Sabrina Ionescu challenged gender norms when she competed against Stephen Curry in the NBA 3-Point Contest. The broken stereotype is that men and women do not usually compete head-to-head in professional sports. It inspiring because it shows that women can compete against men in SOME sports or games

Even with a full-time job, I will find time for the gym and basketball. Staying active helps me manage stress, feel confident, and maintain balance. Fitness won’t just be a hobby, it will be part of my lifestyle. It will be a key part of my routine (I hope).

A sport is defined but a few things and one of those things is that it has physical activity in it. Some people say poker is a sport, but it doesn’t have physical activity in it so therefore it isn’t a sport.
