Multipolar world, multipolar headaches.

While I’m still wrestling with climate and biodiversity, AI has joined the party — not just as a tool but as a force that could supercharge inequality. Here’s my take on this quietly brewing side crisis.

Flying to Galway to look at bogs that are finally being paid not to breathe out CO₂? That’s like driving a diesel SUV to a silent retreat—counterintuitive, but oddly symbolic.

This probably the most famous misattribution in art history. It’s not a Rembrandt (anymore). But it’s a remarkably powerful painting I enjoyed today at www.smb.museum/museen-einri...

Yes it can. In some cases over 30 tonnes CO2 equivalent per hectare. Peatlands must be wet.

I had the honour of meeting Branson in the 90s as a young TV reporter interviewing him about his Virgin music stores. He wore a knit jumper and stuttered as much as I did. Today, we acknowledge this as neurodiversity. Still, a long way to go.
When I was younger I was crippled with self-doubt…

Great to chat to the BBC about my experiences with imposter syndrome and how dyslexia has shaped my life (for the better).

It’s important to keep challenging the status quo that holds neurodivergent people back. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

I’d say Hope Matters.
My to-read pile is becoming a little overwhelming. So many good books, so little reading time.

Any advice on which of these to go for next?

This is ‘Medusa’. Some of the waves in my ‘Sirens’ series took some thought before naming, but not this one.

At my father's workplace there was a Tinguely machine. It had a little switch and the machine started moving to my delight. As a boy of ten or so, I absolutely understood why a machine doing nothing meaningful was meaningful.
Swiss artist Jean Tinguely, best known for his kinetic art sculptural machines that extended the Dada tradition as an antithesis of the commodification of art, many that self destructed to the delight of anyone in witness.

An intriguing, ongoing exhibition in Dusseldorf shows Richter's paintings from the 60ies until today loaned by local collectors. It gives a rare insight into the works of a master painter when leaving out the famous stuff. www.kunstpalast.de/de/event/ric...

I've seen Ospreys catching fish. Often looking astonishingly effortless. Amazing to see the how it really looks like.

Never seen an iceberg myself. Interesting subjects.
The colors and quality of light in Greenland are unlike any I have seen. Softly undulating waters reflect the sky above, while two icebergs contrast against the cyan/green horizon. 📷
