Incidentally, my music taste hasn't really changed much since 2006 - 2010. Got any Midwest Deathcore/ Metalcore you can recommend?

I would say a game (or at least video games) should do a bare minimum of one thing SUPER well, start to finish. For example, fun and intuitive gameplay to distract from story pacing issues, interesting storytelling to distract from questionable graphics, etc...

Motivation and inspiration rarely come when it's convenient.

I feel. I just can't wring the same amount of enjoyment out of anything. My attention span is absolutely fried, which is (I think) why I don't think I can enjoy those games anymore. Crono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI were my absolute favorites, and I can barely sit down and play them for an hour.
