Just reminder that tomorrow is Christmas Lunch and Christmas Jumper Day. We will still be having our PE slot in the Haven, if pupils could come dressed in their PE kit with their Christmas Jumpers.

A busy Christmas week was had in the Haven, from planning our impromptu Nativity play, decorating the costumes to changing elements of our Talk For Writing story and lots of yummy Christmas baking!! ⭐️🎄

We created our story map including different symbols to represent what was happening in the story.
From this, we had an opportunity to engage in short burst writing choosing a specific symbol from our map. We demonstrated great use of adjectives ⭐️

This afternoon for Science we explored materials that dissolved. Using the skittles, we correctly predicted that the skittles would “release its colour”. We developed our knowledge and understanding of how the sugar dissolves into the water ⭐️

This afternoon we created fabulous firework pictures using a range of different materials such as chalk and glitter. Then for Food Technology we made (edible) sparklers using breadsticks 🎆🎇

We used different sized containers to measure and estimate the amount of liquid each one could hold.
Using the scales and measuring jug we developed our knowledge and understanding of the units of measure for capacity ⭐️
