haha yup. I try not to be annoyed but it's one of those things I just vent about and then move on with my day. I feel for the ones we end up cancelling because ultimately it delays patient care

the fun part is, we don't even use biofire or other commercial kits because of the cost! nearly all the PCR tests in my department are laboratory-developed because they're cheaper. I work in public health under the government so naturally they don't wanna give us money 😂

I think it's this coupled with some hospital LIS' only having the option for "virus culture", so they print the req and send to us (public health lab) lol. we give certain tests based on the sample type, but some we'll outright cancel and tell them to specify what they want (ie throat swabs)

playing SV on Switch 2 has been a lot of fun which is why I'm thinking of going back to Arceus. they both run a lot better and it's just nice

I promise taking 10 extra seconds to write or type exactly what viruses you're looking for will be much easier for everyone. I know you're busy. so are we. we don't have time to play mind reader on top of that.

one time someone called us and asked if we could run our viral panel. like we're just testing every sample with one huge, broad panel of viral targets. when asked to specify, they said they wanted all of them.

yeah no I don't use discover lol. I get a lot of politics because I follow a lot of health professionals in ... the states.. so it's hard to miss lol
