I was really into the like, first dungeon. It made me look for other games that do like, evil toy box things. Maplestory apparently did it? It feels like an mmo blindspot when I read these. (Also yugioh fluffals my beloved)

No multiplayer, no onion & dark, no genji equipment, and the handful of side quests that wotl added are probably not in either.

Uninvited is pretty fun. I'm familiar with the NES version, but I bet the PC/Mac versions are solid.

Alongside what the others have mentioned, if you want to go for really nutty high card hands, you'll also utilize some stuff like this! Red Seals also effect held in hand effects. You still need a good level on high card, but it can be very powerful.

There's only one code vein game, sadly. There are some (overpriced) dlcs though. It's at least a head above the surge and lords of the fallen. It was neat and novel. Like a weird in between God eater and stranger of paradise. They also gave out free copies if you donated blood! It's not that bad.

Jacob's quest is probably cheating, but it being """based""" on mystic quest is so enchanting (its basically and rpg maker remake).
