love the way the book handles relationships and intersectionality of sexuality with gender & class especially. it doesn't shy away from showing a comforting sense of solidarity among queer folks and also the darker and uglier parts of it that are also important to acknowledge.

it is a story of yusuf who's navigating his day to day life as a gay man after he left the pesantren he grew up in. it's funny, heartful, and painful in ways that probably will hit close to home to a lot of queer folks, i'm sure.
