Me: *watching ZatsuTabi* She’s going to Matsushima?! WTF is even in Matsushima?
Wife: 松島や ああ松島や 松島や…
Me: God dammit, how could I forget about the haiku…

Anyway, totally forgot about Basho. My bad! Travel propaganda is working well and making me want to visit the place 😅

Still feels like we only just met in person yesterday at the aquarium, yet here we are 10 years together, 7 years married. Happy anniversary @naiiki.bsky.social 💞

I did the thing. Always told my wife that if I found one at a good price, I’d grab one. This thing fights me more than any other guitar, but that’s also part of its charm. Might tweak a few things, but anything I do will be 100% reversible. Was getting some killer tones with my JVM410H + EVH 4x12 😎

Nothing like seeing a candy cab pop up locally and you immediately thinking about the logistics of getting it in your basement 👀

RIP Bill Atkinson. His contributions to the world of computers, especially GUI-related, were immense and undoubtedly shaped my entire career. HyperCard alone was such a major impact that it drove me to pursue a career in coding. Absolute legend

Fun guitar. Nearly every component has been upgraded or replaced, including frets 😅

Nothing quite as satisfying as finally finding your stupid doorbell transformer after looking in the attic (both access areas), by the electrical panel, around wood beams in the basement, in the garage. Was hidden above my work desk in the basement attached to the side of a light box this whole time

Have a sneaking suspicion I’m gonna be using the shit out of -fzero-init-padding-bits=unions in some of these old C codebases I am working with…

Post office on its way to losing a second package of mine now. What is going on… First one I was kinda okay with, but this second one is vintage rack gear. No longer made 😞

This took forever...but it's done! It's really difficult trying to explain this stuff to a dev who might not have hands-on experience. It's complicated and heavily intertwined with many caveats. Then again, I guess that just describes OS development as a whole. tomice.github.io/posts/back-t...

Another blog. Explaining tmp was getting way too long, so that'll be done for yet another post. It's almost as if this Back to Basics stuff is turning into a series ^^; tomice.github.io/posts/back-t...

With everything so “software driven” today in the guitar rack effects world, I’ve been looking at grabbing some classic units. Clean PCM81 by me that is super tempting.

Lexicon being bought and gutted continues to be one of the greatest audio tragedies in the world. Void yet to be truly filled

Next blog post will be about the inner workings of the Yocto project whenever I manage to get to it. Figured it is better to start a cool little project first and then learn about the inner workings, rather than learn all the boring details up front.

Used to be that social media was bad for my mental health which is why I don’t post much anymore (and essentially abandoned the other platform). Now all media seems to be unbearable. 1445 days left to go…

In other news, I am playing guitar a bit more, so that’s cool. 2025 release date still a go?

Last year was so much fun... so let's do this again! Bring an alt no one has seen before, so that no one knows who you are!

Just wanna be yourself? No problem! Come and hang with us regardless. Maybe try to see if you can figure out who is actually who! 😉 #AltArtParty

Lots of people buying new CPUs and GPUs, but they leave their ancient monitors alone. And yet, monitor tech is advancing insanely fast right now. Basically in a panel boom with major breakthroughs almost every year. QDEL and MicroLED right around the corner.

Funeral went well. Military did a great job honoring my dad, and people gave heartfelt speeches. After party at the house celebrating his life with family was a great way to catch up with family, friends, and neighbors. Still miss ya, dad
