Also, Greninja apparently has aura now, I guess. It's cool, but the episode makes so little of it that you just kinda have to accept to make it sense, because what Battle Bond is even for now? ↓

Second, there's an on-going plot with Master 8 and Raihan, yes, I acknowledge that, but Lucario's struggle in this episode is so disconnected to that, that they are only connected by the vague ideia of "Ash needs to train for his battle". ↓

"Oh, but this episode isn't about Greninja, it's about Lucario!". First of all, who even watched this for bumass Lucario? Yeah, the central plot is around him, but it's just an excuse to make Ash go see Greninja; he's the real focus here. He's even highlighted in the opening. ↓

Like, yeah, there's a lot to appreciate about a character beyond his transformation and cool moments, but, at the end of the day, I tunned in to see the cool transformation sequence; without this, his presence feels superfluous. ↓
