Efficiency wise, we lose about 5-7% of electric power shipping it from the generator to your house or factory. The extraction, refining, and shipping of oil from well to your tank uses about 30% of the energy. (Or anyway, adds 30% to the emissions, which is ~ the same ratio.)

What's the concern? Honda and Ford set up the dealer model... Tesla went with a different distribution strategy.
