Being next to @hobhole.bsky.social when he found the Siberian Thrush was the best birding moment I've ever had. We dismissed the 1w Bluethroat in the same bush whilst trying to get our whole group on the bird. Only on Shetland! #Shetland #birding #siberianthrush

Tree Pipit at Steps Hill today. Was hoping for a flyover bird among the large Meadow Pipit movement. Love when a plan comes together and as a bonus, it was my first grounded one in Bucks!

Leach's Storm Petrel, my most wanted bird in the UK! Got to see a few today through the Wirral. Saw the wind forces last last week and took the day off work. An extremely friendly and helpful bunch of birders in that area!

Found a lifer orchid species, Broad-leaved Helleborine, at Sandhouse Lane NR, near Milton Keynes. Also, Farinose Cartilage, Oakmoss and Netted Shield lichens all on small segment of twig. Many Willow Emeralds and a Notch-wing Button moth. @ukorchids.bsky.social @britishlichensociety.org.uk

Hungary one week with @worldwaders.bsky.social and Daniel. 170 species, 22 lifers. Highlights were the abundance (312 individuals) and variety (14 sp) of birds of prey and the large scale and network of habitat in Hortobagyi NP, especially the extensive meadows. ebird.org/tripreport/359635/503204
