A couple views of the Susquehanna River just north of #Harrisburg, #Pennsylvania . The train is passing over the Rockville Bridge, at 3,820 feet, the longest stone masonry arch railroad viaduct ever built: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockvil...

What a nice surprise it was to stumble across @matthewjdowd.bsky.social’s REVELATIONS ON THE RIVER while browsing in Barnes & Noble in Camp HIll, PA today. He’s one of the people I most admire in public life today, and gave his book to myself as an early Hanukkah gift. Can’t wait to read it.

You don’t have to go to California to see redwoods. This Dawn Redwood is located about half a mile from my house in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

It’s too bad Neil Postman, who died in 2003, isn’t around to update his brilliant 1985 book. It explains much of what you need to know to understand Trump’s appeal in the age of “politics as entertainment.” Turn off MSNBC, CNN, and FOX and go read it.
